We are a church reaching out in mission, service, learning and fellowship to Jefferson and South St. Louis Counties. We serve God by feeding the hungry, educating children, youth and adults, playing softball together, helping families to love each other and many other ways. Our mission is to
form disciples for Jesus Christ by helping all people to:

GROW in the new hope of Jesus Christ,
KNOW the new hope of Jesus Christ, and
SHOW the new hope of Jesus Christ.
We are a place to find new hope and a place to belong.
We are a people who will join with you to make a life, not just a living.

Week of August 3, 2008

Please support our bus fund by purchasing scrip or gift cards for your routine purchases, ie. gas, groceries, restaurants, etc. You can place orders in the Scrip bowl by the church office any Sunday and have them available at church the next Sunday. Also, the UMM maintains an inventory of the most popular cards which are available for immediate purchase any Sunday.

MOPS is looking for a MOPPETS Leader MOPPETS is our childcare program during our meetings. The leader is responsible for organizing a curriculum for the children such as a bible story, craft, & snack. The leader is also responsible for getting childcare workers. This is a very important role within our MOPS group. It is important for our moms to feel that their children are in a safe, nurturing environment while attending the meeting. New Hope MOPS invites all mothers of preschoolers (birth - kindergarten) to join us for our first ever Open House, Monday, August 11th at New Hope UMC, 6:30pm. Come and see what MOPS has to offer with our exciting theme: Adventures in Mothering. A free gift will be given to all new members who register during the Open House! Kermit’s Wrong — It’s Easy Being Green! Do you recycle your magazines, or worse, just toss them out? Ever wish you had a magazine, but you felt it was too costly? New Hope’s Green Team is instituting a magazine swap. Come and look at the selection of magazines displayed in the Social Hall on the last Sunday of the month and take what you want. If you have any old magazines to share, remove any name stickers and bring them. You don’t need to bring magazines to take them though! Magazines may be brought to church before the 1st service on the last Sunday of each month OR can be left in labeled bags on the pews by the windows in the Social Hall on the Sunday before that. Any magazines not taken will be put in the recycling bin, or may be shared with shut-ins if someone is interested in doing that..Please call Kris Way at 636-467-2958 with questions or if you would like to help.
